Clubs

We at Baldwins believe in teaching not only studies, but encourage our children in all kinds of Extra-curricular activities. For this purpose, we have a number of Clubs in the School, which cater to a wide range of interests and activities. Hereunder are some of the Clubs and the facilities they offer:

Aero Modelling:
We have introduced Aero Modelling in a bid to make the children understand the importance of aeroplanes. They are given lectures in the theoretical part of flying and piloting, and they are encouraged to make models of aircraft. Competent people from the Visvesaraya Museum come every Friday and Saturday to instruct them in the building of flying models.

Electronics Club:
Here the children are taught the basics of electronics, soldering, the various components that constitute an electronic circuit, and are encouraged to take up small projects of their own, for example, making a small transistor, etc.

Music Club:
Children with a love for music are encouraged to take up learning any of the 55 instruments which are available, from the Piano to the Trumpet to the Clarinet to the Drums, and many others. Children with good voices are trained to sing in the Junior and Senior Choirs, were trained teachers guide them as to their taste in music.

Collections Club:
Children are taught the basics of Numismatics and Philately. Also they are encouraged to make collections of their own, since collections tell us a lot about various countries and their traditions and habits, festivals, etc. They are also encouraged to collect anything they think is worth collecting, and make them into a collection. Trained people from outside the School are encouraged to come and impart their knowledge about the various collections they have made.

Magic Club:
Children are taught simple magic tricks, like sleight of hand, card tricks, etc. There has been a great response for this Club, as it is a good thing to have knowledge of a few tricks, specially at functions. People who are proficient in the art of magic are invited to the School to talk to the club members.

Quiz Club:
Children with a thirst for General Knowledge are encouraged to take part in Inter-school Competitions. Recently, our boys were placed third in an All-Asia Quiz, and won the Nationals in the Junior Division of a Quiz Competition. Hence, we are ready to take on the best.

Literary Activity Club:
Those children who are interested in Creative Writing are encouraged to pen their own poems, stories, essays, etc. We have various competitions of intra and inter School levels, in which they are encouraged to participate.

Debating Club:
Here, the children are taught to look at "two sides of a coin".. literally! They are encouraged to debate about any topic and regular debates are conducted in the School to sharpen their skills. They also participate in InterSchool Competitions.

Art Club:
Children who have a talent for Art, are carefully nurtured and encouraged to widen their skills in various disciplines like Poster Painting,Sketching, Oil Painting, Water Colour Painting, etc. They regularly take part in Inter-School Competitions, and are encouraged to think of Art as a Career.

We at Baldwins believe in encouraging the various hidden talents of our children, and hence we strive to go the extra mile to make their school life memorable.
